Photography has always been a keen hobby of mine, ever since high school. Over the years I managed to get a hold of
camera equipment as and when I could and started experimenting with ways of capturing moments on film, in my own style
and without following the teachings of books or courses. My own unorthodox methods break quite a few of the rules of
photography but I think that's what makes them stand out. As time progressed I moved away from film and on to this new
fangled digital technology that we all know and love. I dipped a toe in the electronic world in 2001 with the excellent Fujifilm
FinePix S602Z, a prosumer level digital camera with nearly all the manual functions I had come to expect from a tried and
tested 35mm SLR unit. I learned a lot about digital work in quite a short space of time and then realised the drawbacks of
the 602 so upgraded my kit bag with it's big brother, the S2 Pro. The differences were startling and immediately I found many
new avenues which I could explore. The S2 acts just like a film camera but has the ability to show the photographer the
resulting images - instantly. Allowing on the fly changes to be made to settings so the perfect image is captured for eternity.
Things have moved on at an precedented rate my first forays into the digital photography world and I try my best to keep up
to date with it all. My kit bag is nearly full to the gunnels with not only the Fuji S2 but also a Nikon D70 as you never know
when you'll need a wide angle shot then moments later a zoom shot! Apart from the two cameras there are all the essential
accessories and lenses too, from fisheye super wide-angle to long range 300mm telephoto and the obligatory prime units for
shooting in low light (perfect for portrait work).
